There be Whales, Captain

For those Star Trek fans, "There be whales, captain" is a notable line that Scotty said to Captain Kirk. We could have said the same line today, since we went whale watching on a whale sightseeing boat.  We took a ferry over to Friday Harbor on San Juan island.  From there we boarded the sightseeing boat.  We started off seeing Sea Lions, then we saw a family of 6 Orca Whales (Killer Whales).  A little later we saw another family of 5 Orca Whales.  We also saw a porpoise and some seals.  It was a good day to be out on a boat.  The ocean was smooth and the air warm.  On the boat we also had a naturalist that told us a lot about the Orca Whales.

It amazes me that when we start talking to people we find out that we have things in common.  There was a gentleman with a WVU ballcap on. I asked him if he was from WV.  As we talked more, he was a trauma doctor and actually worked with RoxAnne at the hospital.  His wife was with him and she also worked at the hospital.  Then I talked to two other girls and both of them were from Charleston, WV.  What a small world!!!!
