Among the Clouds

I left Port Angeles, WA at an elevation of approximately sea level and headed up a 17 mile road that wound up a mountainous road to Hurricane Ridge at an elevation of 5242 feet.  Hurricane Ridge is a mountainous area Olympic National Park.  It is named for its intense gales and winds. The weather in the Olympic Mountains is unpredictable, and visitors can see snow at any time of year.  As I drove up the road, I started driving through low level clouds.  At times it was almost impossible to see ahead of the truck.  I did see a couple of deer grazing along the way.  At the top of the ridge it seemed that I was above the clouds.  If it would have been clear I would have been able to see the snow capped Olympic Mountains, instead I was only able to see clouds.
