Oregon Sand Dunes

We left Cannon Beach this morning and now we are camping in Florence, Oregon at the Woahink Lake RV Resort.  On one side of the campground is Woahink Lake; on the other side is the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area.  The Oregon Dunes are an area of windswept sand that is the result of millions of years of wind and rain erosion on the Oregon Coast. These are the largest expanse of coastal sand dunes in North America.  Some dunes tower up to 500 feet above sea level.  I climbed to the top of one of the smaller dunes.  What a work out hiking on these dunes.  You walk two steps forward and then fall back one step.

RoxAnne and I are celebrating our 41st wedding aniversary.  She baked me a peach pie.  Yummy
Our aniversary gift to each other were Sonicare toothbrushes.  They will be handy after eating our peach pie.
